In this webinar, Jelena Popovic-Neuber, will present on Battery Degradation from an Electrochemical Perspective and give us a reveiw on recent publications from her group. See abstract below:
Battery degradation arises from coupled electrochemical processes involving charge transfer, ion transport, interphase formation, and evolving electrode morphology.1 This contribution examines degradation from an ionics and electrodics perspective, drawing on recent studies of lithium, sodium, and potassium metal electrodes.2,3 Emphasis is placed on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, interfacial transport properties, and the challenges of identifying degradation mechanisms from electrochemical measurements in liquid and solid-state batteries.3,4 The aim is to establish mechanistic links between evolving electrode–electrolyte interphases and battery performance, supporting the development of more reliable diagnostic approaches and durable battery materials.
